Hey everyone, grüum founders here.
We don’t know if you heard the big news, but on the 24th of August we officially turned the ripe old age of EIGHT! Yowza. We can’t believe we’ve whizzed round the sun together eight whole times already. Amazing.
It feels like so long ago – but also weirdly like it happened yesterday – that we first embarked on our sustainable self care mission. It’s astounding how far we’ve come, we’ve grown so much and developed into something honestly so magical. We’re incredibly chuffed and grateful to all of you who’ve helped us to make the world a more friendly place. We couldn’t have done it without you 🧡
As is tradition during these emotionally charged times, we’ve been having a nostalgic peek through some past piccies and we thought we’d share some of the momentous moments that have made us who we are, with you now.
So jump into our image-based time machine and come and have a glimpse at our journey through the ages…
Our first ever work bench. Now that’s a keg stand.
We were still learning so much back then, we had small range of products, and we were packing (as you might be able to tell) in a pub cellar in Manchester. All four of us had taken a huge chance by investing our time and money into grüum and we were determined to make the most of it.
Everyone’s got to start somewhere.
Little by little the orders got bigger and bigger…
We worked hard to make our products naturally kind, non-gender specific and of the highest quality, so that they’d be remembered by those who we persuaded to try them.
After a few months of relentlessly spreading the good word, things started to pick up! People seemed to liked what they were trying, and they wanted more! With a huge sigh of relief we swapped the keg stand for an office and workspace in Manchester.

We made it to our first birthday! With a skeleton staff of 6 (including all 4 of us founders) we were incredibly chuffed to have pulled it off. All there was to do now was get better and better. No biggie… 👀
Pandemic priorities! Time to make sanitiser for the NHS.
Our ever-expanding, outstanding staff base and all of us founders continued working throughout the pandemic, getting much needed self care to people’s doorsteps.
On top of this, we had the means to create hand sanitiser, so we decided to pitch in and do our bit for all the incredible NHS workers out there.
Off we popped to a new office space in Stockport.
After a few years in Manchester, we said goodbye to big city life. We trotted off to a new shared office space in glorious Stockport. We were neighbours with our new warehouse! It was around this time that we began our partnerships with Every Wellness and the wonderfully gentle Rowdy Kind.

Work hard, play hard and all that. We were rolling around that track having a right good time, just like we always do! No need to discuss who won or lost, it’s not about that…

We can’t believe we made it to this point! What an absolute honour. We got dressed up all fancy for the occasion and had a right good time.
We have of course built an appropriate shrine around this award, for future business luck, as is tradition.
Our brand new gaff! So much more room for activities…
Just a few months ago we moved into our brand new space! Still over in Stockport, it’s so much bigger. It’s just bursting with opportunity and we’re already making the most of it, we promise.

Celebrating our 8th Birthday, surrounded by work besties.
8 whole years in the bag! Amazing. There was nothing for it but to don our party hats, get the balloons out and wander over to the nearest mural for a gigantic staff pic. Afterwards we all went back and had a slice of rainbow cake.
