Is natural bar soap better for you?

Bar soaps made from naturally derived ingredients are so much kinder to your skin – and the environment. Natural ingredients like aloe vera, coconut oil, and shea butter (amongst many other plant-based ingredients) are known for nourishing your skin gently and non-irritatingly. Is shower gel the same as bar soap?

While shower gels and body bars can contain many of the same ingredients, the obvious difference between the two is the consistency. Shower gels are liquid soap, whereas body soap bars are solid. By opting for body wash bars, you can drastically reduce your single-use plastic consumption.

How many showers can you get out of a bar of soap?

There’s not really an answer to this once since it depends on a) how often you shower or use your bodywash bar and b) how much you lather up in each wash. They’ll usually last you longer than a standard shower gel, though, which is better for your pocket and your plastic consumption.
